With all the hype of global warming and the attempts of making changes,it seems that even the smallest of changes can really make a difference. LED lighting is one of those, environmentally friendly energy saving public lighting for both indoor and outdoor use. Now if we were to calculate how many lights each house/ business/ public place/ street light there were then I think we would be shocked at the amount. So it would prove that even something we take for granted something small can actually turn into something that can have quite a significant affect.

LED lighting is something that some people are still unsure of, whether the bulb will be good enough, bright enough, will last long enough, and yet we forget that actually LED lighting is more popular than we first thought. If you’re doing your garden up and you want to create a garden path you might put path lights in which are LED. Another example are the LED lights we use in our ceilings, or under kitchen cupboards to illuminate the work top. The quality of them has been recognised and therefore the effects of them are being seen on a much wider scale. It’s not just about changing our homes; it’s about changing the bigger things like floodlights, street lights, airport lights, warehouse lights. All to have a significant impact which is very little effort.

This can also be taken one step further and solar panels can be put in place as a means of collecting the solar energy to use with LED lighting. Again solar power isn’t that big a thing, we’re still trialling it out but yet it’s a very simple and basic idea, one that may change the way we do so many day to day things. Wouldn’t it be great to not have to worry about the electric bill coming through, all because it was solar powered, a simple change of lifestyle that really would have no affect on us and yet it could change our lives dramatically and yet also have positive affects for our environment and the world in which we bring our children up in.
