It may be winter right now, but that doesn’t mean that it’s too early to start planning the most romantic Valentine’s Day yet for you and your loved one! Follow our tips to make it one that both of you will remember.
You may, for example, be considering buying your loved one chocolate and flowers. However, keep in mind that even the most exotic chocolates can get a bit boring after ten years of receiving the same thing!
There are many misconceptions about Valentine’s Day, including that plenty of flashy jewellery and roses are the perfect way to win your lady’s heart. However, it is more often what you do for her rather than what you buy for her that really makes her feel loved. After all, it takes little creativity to buy her flowers, but more to give a gift that will truly touch her heart.
Even if you do buy a gift, there are plenty of creative options that you can choose, from customised mugs and soaps to towels or even a copy of the Kama Sutra. You could also go for an even more personalised option, such as writing her a love letter, mentioning things that are specific to your relationship. If writing isn’t your style, there are plenty of other small things you can do for her, such as spending the day cleaning and tidying the house. That way, you’ll get to see your wife or girlfriend’s delight when she walks into the house after work to discover that it is completely spotless.
Particularly if you have been married for years, doing something new can really rekindle that early romance. There may, for example, be an art or dance class that she’s always wanted to sign up to. If so, signing both of you up can be a really romantic way of spending time together while learning a new skill.
Remember that you know your partner best, so make use of this knowledge to plan the most romantic Valentine’s Day for you both in 2011.
Alternatively, your wife or girlfriend may adore travelling, in which case, think of all the places that she either hasn’t yet visited, or would like to visit again. Depending on her interests, you could book one of the many
luxury hotels to be found in a romantic destination either at home or abroad.
